During my polytechnic studies, I came down to Tiruvannamalai in my final year. At that time she gave me a letter of initiation into the title brahmasukhi.

She also organised to take a series of pictures of both of us together and separate, such as this one.

You can see there is a conch and kamandalu (water pot) to her left and a wooden staff to her right, all of which she gave me. There is another solo picture of me sitting in this very spot during the shoot.

They are standing outside the half-built ashram that she was building for me at that time in Pavazhakundru, the place where I had my enlightenment experience. My grandmother and she was deeply involved with the Tiruppugazh Maadar Sangam – a small movement to spread great Tamil literary works like Tiruppugazh, etc. She was a great inspiration and a compassionate guide for me at that young age. Like all my other teachers, she recognised me and knew that I added value to her life.

1994 | This is my Vedanta guru Mata Vibhutanandapuri aka Mataji Kuppammal in Tiruvannamalai. Her mother was without a child for a long time. The mother’s guru was Seshadri Swamigal, a great enlightened being from Tiruvannamalai. He blessed her and gave her a handful of mud to eat which she ate with complete faith. Later that year, Mata Vibhutanandapuri was born. She was a master in Kundalini tantra by the age of 12. Out of her own will, she never menstruated till she was 21. Against her will, she was married. She was a had such a strong integrity with her body, that ovulated exactly four times to produce four children. She was deeply involved with the Tiruppugazh Maadar Sangam – a small movement to spread great Tamil literary works like Tiruppugazh, etc. She was could materialize anything she wanted. She had the vision of Goddess Parvati as Raja Rajeshwari. She was a great inspiration and a compassionate guide for me at that young age.
