Introduction

Poondi Mahan was a very well known enlightened being who resides in the village called Poondi, regarded and worshiped as an incarnation of the supreme consciousness himself. His greatness was even spoken about by Kanchi Maha Periyavar Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswati Swamigal, Sri Gnanananda Swami and Kripananda Variyar Swamigal all of whom recognized the Supreme Pontiff of Hinduism as the next Incarnation of Paramashiva.

Poondi Mahan radiated a unique and intense energy to all which attracted thousands to him for blessings. He was a mendicant by his stature and look but around him he never expressed any foul smell, and his presence remained pristine and powerful. Poondi Swami never even said much but just by feeling blessed by his presence his devotees were moved to serve him, bathe him and even feed him. Across Tamil Nadu, so many thousands had heard about him and would travel from far to have his Darshan.

It was Poondi Mahan who initiated Ma Lokanayaki such that her womb would be well- prepared to nurture the paramasivam-dhaama, the plenary portion of Paramashiva.

A few months into her pregnancy, Brahma Yogini (Mataji Vibhutananda Puri) gave specific instructions to Anusuyammal, her dear friend and the mother of Sri Arunachalam, paternal grandmother of the Incarnation who was yet to be born. Obeying her commands, Anusuyammal took her daughter-in-law, Ma Lokanayaki to receive the blessings of Poondi Mahan, a great Seer, revered as incarnation of Paramashiva near Tiruvannamalai. As Ma Lokanayaki bowed down to Poondi Mahan, he showered her with flowers and akshata, the turmeric rice, and declared to her heartily, “Ammaiyappanaai pirappen!”, blessing her that Paramashiva Himself will be born to her as the Divine mother and father of the whole cosmos.

On the 2nd January of 1978, as the most compassionate answer to the prayer of billions on Planet Earth, the ultimate superconsciousness manifested successfully through the body of the Supreme Pontiff of Hinduism, Jagatguru Mahasannidhanam His Divine Holiness Nithyananda Paramashivam.

This video is yet to be published. “Ammaiyappan” literally means “Mother and Father” which is the term used to describe Paramashiva especially in Tiruvannamalai – as the Mother and Father of all beings

Final Samadhi of Poondi Mahan

In November of 1978, three days before Poondi Mahan attained Mahasamadhi he traveled where Paramashiva Himself had manifested on Planet Earth to see the divine supreme consciousness in the form of a one year old baby. Upon seeing Him in the human form, satisfied that He had successfully manifested on the Planet Earth, Poondi Mahan took His leave and returned back to Poondi where He attained mahasamadhi on 3 November 1978.
